Top View looking down at a 200-ton ladle full of molten steel (seen through a narrow gap between the ladle walls and its cover, which is not yet fully closed)

Note the giant hook on the ladle side. These are used by the overhead crane to carry the ladle from the steelmaking vessel to the caster.

The ladle is now positioned over the tundish. It has just been opened to start pouring molten steel from its bottom.
